Angelo Alums Sustainability Program (AASP)

The Angelo Alums Sustainability Program (AASP) is a project addressing the plight of young adult care leavers. The name Angelo Alums Sustainability program has identified six key pillars aimed at ensuring that all targeted care leavers are well grounded after leaving the home.
The pillars are:

1. Mental health care and counselling
2. Enhanced health care through registration under Kenya's new universal health care system
3. Life coaching and Psychosocial support.
4. Economic strengthening through capacity building, skills training and business support
5. Social support and peer-to-peer accountability
6. Permanency planning

Project Summary

The Angelo Alums Sustainability Program (AASP) is a project addressing the plight of young adult care leavers. These are young adults who have spent their entire childhood under institutional care. Zaria is implementing this project under her care and protection of orphans and vulnerable people thematic area. The name Angelo Alums Sustainability program has identified six key pillars aimed at ensuring that all targeted care leavers are well grounded after leaving the home and not only can they support themselves but will play role in mentoring other future Alums.
